We Make it Personal.
Don’t ever settle. That is what mothers say about spouses and mentors say about jobs. It’s also how our design consultants at Calico feel about your home. For almost 65 years, we’ve helped customers find the patterns, textures, treatments, and “good bones” they want in their furnishings. We inject warmth, character and personality into every project, to reflect you and your life. And this expertise is free, whether in your home or in our store.
An exquistely drawn bird print, Pheasant Hunt is the focal point of this collection of rich colors and textures. Teal and toast shades are the unifying colors — in Gianni, a luxe cotton velvet woven in Italy; in the fretwork cut velvet Plushious; and in Lancelot, a kilim-style jacquard upholstery and Hallem, a scaled-up paisley, both made in the USA. Silks Titan and Riviera Strip add luster and sheen to the mix — perfect choice for draperies and pillows.

This collection has the warmth of an island sunset and a playful mix of patterns. Retreat, a large-scale Jacobean floral, is perfect for family-size sofas and chairs. The pattern complements the Balikat jacquard ikat and Catcher, a small-scale Green key design. With the addition of the ethnic stripes and the small koi pattern Koyoto, all of the jacquard upholstery fabrics were woven in the USA (and Retreat was printed here too!). There is still a vibrant textile industry in America, and we’re doing our best to support these mills.

For the traditionalist who likes updated classic, this collection in soft shades of duck egg blue, citron, cream and taupe is easy on the eyes. The three patterns Porada, Ortega, and Vintage stripe were adapted from 19th century documents by Acquitaine, a high-end British fabric house. When paired with a silk stripe, a subtle damask or solid Slubby Linen, these patterns can complement antique furnishings of almost any style — American Country, Swedish, French or Belgium.

Beachcombing has never resulted in a prettier array of shells and coral than on Sheldon, a linen/rayon print. With a large repeat to show off the pattern, Sheldon will upholster beautifully, make a stunning bed cover or look great on shams or pillows. We like to pair this print with a smaller scale pattern such as Kilburn, available in lots of other good colors. For solid color contrast, Slubby Linen can’t be beat — it’s a versatile performer, heavy enough for upholstery and substantial enough for draperies and bed skirts.

Set sail in this casual mix of fabrics to create a comfortable sitting room, kitchen or boy’s room. Make a statement about your love of the wind on the water! Boats is an unusual fabric at 108″ wide, twice the width of most prints — and perfect for bedcovers, window treatments or tableskirts without seams. It’s great paired with Wayfarer stripe, Zigzag C, and our Slubby Linen and Slubby Basket solids.

Longing for the glam days of the Beverly Hills Hotel, with banana leaves on the wallpaper, pink paint, the Polo Lounge and Marilyn Monroe in a bungalow? That hotel was recently refurbished — and this is the hot style in that hot zip code. Swaying Palms is a similar banana leaf print in linen/rayon to create your own distinctive look in a more livable space. It’s warmed up with the addition of Deauville Dance from IMAN Home and the casual grid design Kilburn.

A painterly print, Marissa, is the focal fabric in this collection that features toned-down shades of tangerine, magenta and citron. Colorful and livable, this group combines rich textures and patterns to create a wonderful room: the faux bois of Lawrence complements the floral motifs; the velvet stripe Canoga and faux silk stripe Benji work perfectly with the jacquard medallion pattern in Charolette. The solid colors are great mixers, adding a restful note to a veritable garden of fabrics.

This collection spins around the subtle colors of the linen floral Alexander, a design based on an antique block print. The linen prints Citysquare and Burnet pull out the citron colors, while indigo tweed and chevron wovens ground the group. Add punch with silk Dupioni pillows — or choose a graphic lattice design such as Slick OD for accents in a side chair or accessories.
